Using the NEC Single-line Telephone

Receiving a Call
Lift handset or press speaker to answer the following calls:
- Outside Call: Indicated by a Fast Ring Signal
- Internal Call: Indicated by a Normal Ring Signal

Placing a Call

External Call:
- Dial 9, then 1, the area code followed by the desired number.

Internal Call:
- Dial 4 digit extension number.

Placing A Call On Hold
- Ask party to hold.
- Depress flash key, listen for interrupted dial tone
Note: To retrieve held call, replace handset. Call will ring back automatically.

Transfer a Call
- Ask party to hold.
- Depress FLASH key, listen for interrupted dial tone.
- Dial the desired second party.
- When called party answers, announce the transfer.
- Replace handset.
Note: If the station is busy or not answered, depress FLASH key to reconnect with original calling party.

Three-way Conference Call
- Establish first call ask party to hold.
- Depress FLASH key, listen for interrupted dial tone.
- Dial the desired second party.
- When called party answers, announce the conference.
- Depress FLASH key, all three parties may now converse.
Note: If the station is busy or not answered, depress FLASH key to reconnect with original calling party.

Call Forwarding

To Activate Call Forward All Calls:
- Direct all incoming calls to another extension.
- Lift handset.
- Dial access code *6.
- Listen for interrupted dial tone.
- Dial desired extension number you are forwarding to.
- Listen for confirmation tone.
- Replace handset.

Cancel Call Forward All Calls:
- Lift handset.
- Dial Access code #6.
- Listen for confirmation tone.
- Replace handset.

Call Forward No Answer:
- When calls are not answered within 4 to 6 rings they may be directed to another extension.
- Lift handset.
- Dial Access code *8.
- Dial desired extension number.
- Listen for confirmation tone.
- Replace handset.
- Cancel Call Forward No Answer: • Lift handset.
- Dial access code #8.
- Listen for confirmation tone.
- Replace handset.

Last Number Dial
To call The Last Telephone Number Dialed (Internal or Outside):
- Dial **.

Speed Dial

To Program A Speed Dial Button:
- Depress REDIAL button.
- Depress desired speed dial button.
- Dial number to store.
- Depress REDIAL button again.
- Speed dial button is now programmed.

- Depress held line to return to your call.
- Use handset to converse.

- Replace handset.
Note: If the station is busy or not answered, depress TRANSFER key to reconnect with original calling party.

Three-way Conference Call
- Establish first call ask party to hold.
- Depress TRANSFER key, listen for interrupted dial tone.
- Dial the desired second party.
- When called party answers, announce the conference.
- Depress CONF key, all three parties may now converse.
CONF lamp will be lit

To Disconnect and Get a Dial Tone
- Depress RECALL key to disconnect.
- Dial tone will be heard and another call may now be placed.

Call Forwarding

To Activate Call Forward All Calls:
- Lift handset or depress SPEAKER.
- Depress FWD key or dial access code *6.
- Listen for interrupted dial tone.
- Dial desired extension number you are forwarding to.
- Listen for confirmation tone.
- Replace handset or depress SPEAKER.

Cancel Call Forward All Calls:
- Lift handset or depress SPEAKER.
- Depress FWD key or dial access code #6.
- Listen for confirmation tone.
- Replace handset or depress speaker.
